We are wholly dependent on donations from ordinary local people and businesses to keep this campaign going. The burden has fallen disproportionately on a few people who have been willing to donate generously in the battle to preserve our landscape, the living conditions of local communities and our local tourist economy.
As you will know, MAG was forced to hire solicitors in December last year to prevent the application being forced through prematurely and without regard for proper procedure. Everything that has happened since then has totally justified our actions. But this has been a major expense.
The most expensive phase of the campaign is yet to come. There is every likelihood that, whatever decision is made with regard to 'Moorsyde', local turbine applications will end up at a public inquiry. This would mean the hiring of a barrister and probably involve the employment of expert witnesses to present evidence. All of this is very expensive.
We urgently need your help now to prepare for the next phase of the campaign.
Please use the donations form:
Cheques should be sent to:
Garry Beaumont, MAG Treasurer,
Murton White House,
(Cheques should be made out to 'Moorsyde Action Group'. Please enclose a SAE if you want a receipt.)
A number of our supporters have made pledges for amounts that will only be called in as and when they are needed. If you would like to discuss making a pledge with our Treasurer, please call Garry on 01289 302930.
